I'm not sure about you, but my favorite part of wearing makeup is taking it off.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MAKEUP, but I love a freshly cleansed face better.  I am religious about washing before bed and when I wake up in the morning.  A few weeks ago while at Nordstrom's Beauty Blush Hour, the lovely cosmetics ladies were nearly appalled to hear that I did not own a Clarisonic.  So appalled that they sent me home with one (the Clarisonic Mia 2 to be specific)

Now, I've worked in cosmetics for a long time and sold a lot of Clarisonic's.  I knew the benefits and could probably tell you everything about it with my eyes closed, but I had never actually used it myself.  So that night, I charged it up and, removed my eye makeup and had at it.

OH.
MY.
GOD.

My skin felt amazing.  So So So clean, with out being dried out.  And it's idiot proof - push the button and the Mia pulses to let you know when to move on to the next area of your face.

Ok, Day 1: clean as a whistle.

I continued using this little miracle once-twice a day for a week.  I thought, surely my skin would react to all this extra attention it was getting OR I would breakout because my pores were getting rid of all the junk hidden but nope, it only got better.  My skins clarity has been unreal - not ruddy or dry - radiant, smooth, and even.  My foundation applies 10x better.  I don't have to work as hard to make it smooth over those dehydrated areas of my face, because they aren't there any more.

Week 1:  Full on obsession

So what does it do?

Typical cleansing (hands, soap, & water) can still leave oil, makeup and dirt in your pores.  The Clarisonic uses a sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently remove 6 times more makeup and 2 times more dirt than just washing your face.  Many people think that the Clarisonic spins in a circle and is a heavy duty exfoliator.  It actually oscillates back and forth in tiny little movements that you can't even detect except for the vibration that you feel.

Benefits?

  • Removes 6X more makeup than manual cleansing
  • Leaves skin feeling and looking smoother
  • Improves the effectiveness of serums and creams you are already using
  • Gentle enough for all skin types
  • Reduces oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes
  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • You can use it with your favorite cleanser

Honestly, if I could give one of these to all my brides to get their skin at it's best for their wedding I would. Until then I am going to sing it's praises and suggest everyone get their hands on it. It is a little bit of an investment (the Mia 2 has 2 speeds and is priced at $119) but, a necessity in my opinion. If you have a bestie or a roommate you can both go in on one and buy a second brush head for $25 so you each can use it. I'm 2 weeks in and my skin has never looked better without makeup (and with makeup).
