My lips are as dark as my heart. <3
Normally, the only time most people would wear black lipstick is Halloween. Where is the fun in that? We first started to see the dark lip trend a few years ago with YSL and Aquilano Rimondi sending raven-lipped ladies down the runway. Since then, there have been a lot of more wearable variations of this look - blackened violet, blood reds, chocolate browns. Still, no one chooses to go for it and wear a stark black lip.
I started to embrace my inner goth a few years ago and latched on to the dark lip trend immediately. Now I wear dark browns, purples, and reds without any hesitation. I LOVE the way black lipstick looks, but I guess even I am still a bit timid to wear it outside of a goth-themed evening. It's kind of the perfect lipstick; my hazel eyes look bright green in contrast, my teeth look white, my cheeks look rosy, and it is an instant complexion booster. It's more about having the guts to wear it.
So I pose the question to you: Would you wear it?
